ABOUT AMANDA
I have spent almost three decades helping organisations and the people within them make sense of complexity, navigate change and move forward with greater clarity. Across strategy, operations, organisational consulting and fractional CxO roles, I have seen that even the most practical business challenges are shaped by people: what drives them, what they assume, how they respond under pressure and the patterns they cannot always see for themselves.
This is where my strategic experience and my work with the Enneagram come together. I help executives, business owners and organisations understand what is really happening beneath the surface so that they can make clearer decisions, work more effectively with others and create meaningful change.
Looking beneath the surface
In 2014, after years of developing and managing international programmes, I began noticing the same pattern among many of the successful executives I worked with. They were capable, experienced and respected, yet they often sensed that something was missing or that the way they were working was no longer producing the results they wanted.
As I worked with them and their teams, it became clear that the difficulty was rarely a lack of ability. More often, there was a disconnect between the person, the role they occupied and the environment in which they were expected to perform. Their decisions, relationships and responses under pressure were being influenced by motivations and assumptions that conventional business tools did not always reveal.
I had first encountered the Enneagram during my graduate fellowship, where I was part of a group representing twenty nationalities. We had been taught to understand our differences primarily through culture, but the Enneagram took us deeper. It helped us recognise the motivations behind our habitual patterns, understand why communication broke down and see one another with greater accuracy.
That experience stayed with me. I began using the Enneagram in my own personal and professional development and eventually incorporated it into my work with executives and organisations across different countries and industries. It gave me a framework for understanding something I had observed throughout my career: meaningful change becomes possible when people can see what is driving their established patterns.
Today, the Enneagram sits at the centre of my work because it allows us to look beyond prescribed ideas of what someone in a particular role should be like. We can understand the person behind the role, recognise the patterns shaping their experience and identify changes that are both practical and genuinely suited to who they are.
Strategic thinking grounded in human understanding
My work brings together strategic thinking, practical business experience and a deep understanding of human behaviour. I listen carefully, ask direct questions and notice connections that may not yet be obvious. The Enneagram helps us examine the motivations and assumptions beneath recurring patterns, while my strategic experience allows us to translate that understanding into practical decisions and meaningful action.

A perspective shaped across cultures
Living and working across different countries has shaped the way I understand people, organisations and the environments in which they operate. Born in the United States, raised in Kenya, educated in Hong Kong and now based in Botswana, I have learned that culture and context influence far more than how people communicate. They shape expectations, relationships and the way decisions are made.
That perspective has developed further through a career spanning international programme development, executive training and organisational consulting. More recently, my work has included fractional CxO roles, providing strategic and operational support from within businesses navigating growth, transition and complexity. I bring this broader perspective to each engagement while remaining attentive to the realities of the person and organisation in front of me.

I am naturally curious about people, the choices we make and the experiences that shape the way we see the world. Outside of work, you will often find me enjoying a good cup of coffee, exploring and learning about South African wines or planning my next adventure.
